ABOUT ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTABLES
Wrinkles are a natural part of the skin aging process. However, they are one that we work hard to avoid. Deep lines and fine wrinkles generally form on the face. But what are wrinkles and how can anti-wrinkle injections help to minimise their appearance?
As our skin ages, it begins to lose the elasticity and smoothness as collagen production breaks down and different factors take their toll. When we move our face, our skin creases and wrinkles as our facial muscles move to form our natural facial expressions such as frowning, and squinting. As our skin becomes less elastic, these creases become permanent features of our face. Wrinkles can also be encouraged by external factors such as smoking, skin dehydration and sun damage.
Anti-wrinkles injections can help minimise the appearance of fine lines. After consulting with one of our doctors to determine which wrinkles you need to treat, a specific amount of product will be injected into the area. This works to stop the muscles from contracting as much, smoothening the skin and preventing it from creasing.
Results from anti-wrinkle treatments take about 10-14 days to fully show and are generally long-lasting, lasting between 3-4 months. They can be used to treat expression lines like forehead wrinkles, crows feet, and bunny lines. They can also be used in face slimming, brow lift, gummy smile and hyperhydrosis (excess sweating in the underarms,).
Enhancing your natural beauty and tackling wrinkles is easy with dermal fillers. As we age our face naturally loses volume as our skin ages and production of collagen reduces. Filler treatments such as lip fillers, jawline enhancement and cheek augmentation are some of our most popular beauty treatments. Our Doctor uses only the finest facial fillers to enhance your beauty.
BENEFITS OF THE TREATMENT
Add definition and structure to the natural facial contours
Compensate for volume loss
Reduce the appearance of wrinkles
Skin rejuvenation & younger-looking appearance
Easy, effective and minimal downtime
About Filler Injections
We all have areas of appearance that we would like to change. Maybe we want a stronger jawline or maybe we have deep hollows beneath our eyes. As we age, the collagen naturally found in skin breaks down. This causes our skin to lose volume and elasticity. Environmental factors such as smoking, dehydration and alcohol accelerate the skin’s natural aging process.
Dermal filler can help to define the face, replace lost volume and revitalise the skin. It is made of a naturally occurring substance in the skin, hyaluronic acid. Dermal filler is a humectant, which means it binds to water to increase its volume. This gel-like substance varies in consistency depending on the area being treated.
Filler injectables are an easy and cost-effective enhancement for several areas of the face. The most popular filler treatment is a lip augmentation. Fillers can also be used to define the face’s natural contours including the cheeks,, chin and jawline. Face fillers can also be used as an anti-wrinkle treatment to tackle fine lines and deep wrinkles like the folds, marionette lines and tear troughs (under-eye).
Filler procedures typically last between 30 and 60 minutes and results can be seen between 4 and 12 months, depending on a number of factors. After this, the product dissolves naturally into the body. The treatment is virtually painless, as the injections contains a local anaesthetic.
What to consider before Cosmetic Injections
Not all fillers have the same quality…
There are various filler products available on the market but not all fillers are high quality. Our Doctor uses only the finest filler products. They have long-lasting effects and are CE and FDA approved. .
Unlike typical dermal fillers, a new influx of Skin Rejuvenation injectables, including, Profhilo® and Teoxane Redensity 1, are showing promising results. These treatments tend to focus on improving hydration and condition as opposed to volume. Such Injectable moisture treatments are made of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a natural component of human skin. Hyaluronic acid is a water-binding molecule that can hold 10,000 times its weight in water, hence, its unique ability to promote hydration.
Hyaluronic acid is made up of long chains that draws and holds water. In dermal fillers the water clumps together and stays put where it’s injected to create volume. With injectable moisturiser treatments, the hyaluronic acid works to spread evenly throughout the face to draw water -ultimately stimulating hydration of the skin without unnecessary volume.
Profhilo is currently the most popular injectable hydration treatment used to treat a Skin Rejuvenation by stimulating bio elasticity. This followed closely by Teoxane Redensity 1 skin booster.
Profhilo is currently used on the lower part of the face for skin laxity, and can also be used on the neck, decolletage, upper arms, hands, abdomen and knees. Teoxane Redensity 1 can also be used on the face and neck but is ideal for targeting specific areas of concern, such as upper lip lines or creepy skin under the eyes.
Profhilo usually needs 2-3 treatments 4-6 weeks apart and then one treatment every 4-6 months.
Redensity 1 usually requires 3 sessions 3 weeks apart, with maintenance every 4-6 months.
Redensity 1 has pure hyaluronic acid with the added benefit of antioxidants, potent amino acids, minerals and vitamins - it repairs the skin while hydrating it. Redensity 1 skin booster works to hydrate the skin but will prevent premature skin ageing, whilst giving a beautiful healthy glow. Profhilo is pure high concentrated hyaluronic acid treatment that works in bio-remodelling collagen and elastin and at the same time providing high levels of hydration for the skin. Profhilo is a potent anti-ageing treatment, but something additional to this is recommended to treat the forehead, under eyes and peri-oral area.
How to decide which treatment is right for you
For younger skin wanting to improve skin health, hydration, protection and to improve radiant glow Teoxane Redensity 1 Skin booster is a good option. Profhilo is more popular with the slightly older age group as it gives beautiful hydration to the skin, softens fine lines, and gives a 'hydrolift'. Ultimately, both Redensity and Profhilo are excellent treatments that provide outstanding results.
